Wharton Borough School District proudly introduces our Duffy Principal and Vice Principal of the Day, Samantha and Ryan!
Samantha and Ryan sold the most items from the PTA Cherrydale Fundraiser, and got to hang with Mrs. Alpaugh and Ms. Castillo to see exactly what a day in the life of an administrator is like. They enjoyed some hands on learning as well as a Reno's lunch date!
I got to chat a little with both students; Samantha said she wants to be a teacher when she grows up, and when I asked Ryan if he would rather be a student or Principal right now, he said he wanted to enjoy being a kid a little longer. Same Ryan, same.
We hope they had a great day with two of our best school leaders.

Wharton District Families - The PTA is looking for your help! There are still open volunteer spots for their annual Holiday Shop at the school next week. As always the PTA depends on the support from our community to keep these events going, and in turn help our students!

We have a late Thanksgiving post, but we didn't want to ruin the surprise!
In celebration of Thanksgiving, Mrs. Church’s ELA students wrote heartfelt letters to their families to practice gratitude and real‑world writing skills. The excitement peaked when the postman visited their classroom to help add stamps and carry the letters off to be delivered. A big thank you to our students for their thoughtful words and to our local postal hero for making this authentic and memorable!

Just a reminder, we will have a 12:40 dismissal tomorrow, 11/26, and school will be closed on 11/27 & 1128.
We hope you are able to take this time to relax and enjoy with family.

Duffy Second grade artists created Elephants inspired by art from India. They wrote artist statements and had a gallery walk through to observe the work of their classmates.

Our class trip to the Crayola Factory was bursting with color! 🌈 What an amazing day learning how the magic happens and getting to be creative. Highly recommend!

We swapped the cafeteria for a cozy café last week for a special 5th Grade "Book Sampling" event in the library! Mrs. Taker transformed the space into a restaurant, where students got to "sample" books by reading the first three minutes/first chapter.
If they loved the taste, they checked it out! If not, they moved on to the next course. What a genius way to explore new genres and find that perfect read. We're serving up lifelong readers! 🤩
What was your favorite book you "sampled" as a kid? Let us know! 👇

We love hands-on speech! Engaging, interactive lessons like "The Old Lady" activity help students expand vocabulary, strengthen sequencing, and build comprehension-making language learning meaningful and fun for all students. Every communicator is included, supported, and heard.
