Kindergarten artists in Mrs. Maida's class became jewelry designers in art by creating textured clay pendants with radial designs and adding beads to make necklaces inspired by jewelry from around the world.

Twinning! Our second day of MacKinnon's Halloween spirit week fundraiser has us seeing double!

The MacKinnon 8th grade class is holding a spirit week fundraiser for both MacKinnon & Duffy students and staff. Our 8th graders are asking for a suggested $5 donation to participate to go towards their end of the year activities. Please see the attached flyer for the themes this week.
Duffy students do not need to pay to dress up on Halloween. This is just a fun way to raise some money for our 8th graders.

Do you have any old books or media?
Wharton Public Library is accepting donations until November 8th.
The items donated will be put up for sale during this years book fair.
Saturday, November 15th @ 10:30AM at the Wharton Public Library

HUGE shoutout to our Middle School Cross Country team! 🏃♀️💨 Today, they competed in the GMCJSCA 2025 Championships Race at Central Park in Morris Plains, with approximately 70 runners in each race. The commitment, grit, and endurance on display were incredible. We are so proud of every runner who finished strong! 🧡🖤

Our first graders just wrapped up an amazing Pumpkin Science unit! 🎃🔬 They were little scientists, measuring, weighing, observing, and even predicting if their pumpkins would float or sink! So much hands-on learning and autumn fun. We're so proud of their curiosity! #PumpkinScience #FirstGrade #ScienceIsFun #HandsOnLearning

Our Student Food Committee had an awesome meeting today! We sat down with Sherry Toscano from Maschio's and Karina Argueta, one of our fantastic cafeteria workers, to talk all things lunch.
We discussed some exciting new menu items and gave feedback on which current meals we love and which ones we'd be happy to pass on.
There were some great ideas, and having the kids involved with some of the menu gives them a real voice in what they eat! Stay tuned—you might see some student-approved meals coming to the lunch line soon! 🥪🥗🍕

What a great turn out to our PTA sponsored Trunk or Treat. Kids had a great time, and families really got into the Halloween spirit decorating their cars!
Thank you to our wonderful PTA for putting this all together!

Our first grade class went to visit the Wharton Fire Department last week for a fun and educational field trip. Students loved seeing the fire trucks up close and learning all about how fire fighters help our community.
Thank you to our Wharton Fire Department for taking the time to teach our students about fire safety!

Wharton School's Band & Chorus were awarded the NAMM Foundation award for the 2025 Best Communities for Music Education District. Last night our band a chorus gave a brief performance and had a pizza party to celebrate their achievement. We will also have a plaque hung in our school to honor this award.

What a wonderful experience our Hispanic Heritage Celebration was for our families, students, and staff!
Our students & families set up tables and taught us all a little bit about their culture and shared some wonderful authentic dishes!
Thank you to everyone who came together and made this such an incredible experience.
