Our second graders, in Mrs. Fiorello and Mrs. Greco's class, listened to a read aloud of How to Catch a Gingerbread Man. Then they worked in small groups to make a plan for their trap before building.

Today our superintendent had lunch with a small group of students.
They laughed. They talked about school, friends, and what matters to them. They shared stories and snacks.
Lunch Bunch matters.
When you sit with children, you tell them they belong. You show them they are seen. You learn who they are when the classroom noise fades.
These moments build trust. Trust builds connection. Connection supports learning and well being.

Did you know Wharton students run the Cool Beans Café on select Friday mornings? ☕️ This past Friday they took orders, delivered scones, and served delicious hot & iced coffees — building teamwork, time management, customer service, money handling, communication, following safety/food‑handling routines, problem‑solving, and leadership along the way. Proud of these real‑world skills in action! #StudentRunCafe #LifeSkills #WhartonPride

Mrs. Church's students finished a magical unit on The Polar Express by writing their own hot chocolate recipes — then brought them to life at the coffee cart. Warm hands, big smiles, and lots of learning: literacy, following sequences, measuring, and teamwork. Cocoa + creativity = winter memories. ❄️☕️📚 #PolarExpress #LiteracyInAction #HandsOnLearning #STEMinEveryCup

Wharton Borough School District proudly introduces our Duffy Principal and Vice Principal of the Day, Samantha and Ryan!
Samantha and Ryan sold the most items from the PTA Cherrydale Fundraiser, and got to hang with Mrs. Alpaugh and Ms. Castillo to see exactly what a day in the life of an administrator is like. They enjoyed some hands on learning as well as a Reno's lunch date!
I got to chat a little with both students; Samantha said she wants to be a teacher when she grows up, and when I asked Ryan if he would rather be a student or Principal right now, he said he wanted to enjoy being a kid a little longer. Same Ryan, same.
We hope they had a great day with two of our best school leaders.

Wharton District Families - The PTA is looking for your help! There are still open volunteer spots for their annual Holiday Shop at the school next week. As always the PTA depends on the support from our community to keep these events going, and in turn help our students!

We have a late Thanksgiving post, but we didn't want to ruin the surprise!
In celebration of Thanksgiving, Mrs. Church’s ELA students wrote heartfelt letters to their families to practice gratitude and real‑world writing skills. The excitement peaked when the postman visited their classroom to help add stamps and carry the letters off to be delivered. A big thank you to our students for their thoughtful words and to our local postal hero for making this authentic and memorable!
