An academy program at the Morris County Vocational School District (MCVSD) provides students in grades nine through twelve with in-depth instruction in a specific career pathway. Students attend the academy program instead of their local high school unless the academy program is housed in their local high school. Students take their academy class each year along with the NJ State Department of Education's academic requirements. All academy students receive a high school diploma from the Morris County Vocational School District, regardless of their academy location.
The academy programs at MCVSD allow high school students to explore specialized fields of study while completing their academic requirements. Each academy offers a unique course sequence along with opportunities for internships and college credit. Combining rigorous academics with hands-on, career-focused learning, the programs help students develop essential skills and prepare for future opportunities.
Students apply to an Academy during the fall of their 8th-grade year, during the application window.
