We hope you're enjoying a restful and joyful start to your summer! We wanted to share a few valuable programs and resources available to families across New Jersey that may be helpful to you or someone you know.
1. Family Connects NJ – Free Home Nurse Visits for New Parents
Family Connects NJ offers free in-home visits from specially trained nurses for parents with newborns during the first two weeks after birth. This program is available at no cost to all families—regardless of income, insurance, or immigration status.
Currently, the program is available in select counties including Essex, Middlesex, Mercer, Cumberland, Gloucester, Somerset, Sussex, Passaic, Hudson, Bergen, and Ocean. It will expand statewide by January 2027.
Materials are available in over 20 languages. To learn more, visit: www.familyconnectsnj.org
2. Summer EBT Program – $120 for Groceries Per Eligible Child
New Jersey is launching the Summer EBT program, providing a one-time $120 benefit per eligible child to help families buy groceries while school is out.
If your child does not have a fixed mailing address, or if your address cannot receive mail (e.g., P.O. Boxes), please let us know so the card can be mailed to the school and picked up over the summer.
More details are available at: www.nj.gov/summerebt
3. New Jersey State Resource Packet
This helpful packet includes information on youth mental health supports, food security resources, and tips for staying healthy and safe throughout the summer.
We hope these resources support your family’s well-being this season. If you have any questions or need assistance accessing these services, please don't hesitate to reach out.
