Mrs. Robin Ghebreal - President
For the past 17 years Robin has worked for the Borough of Wharton, New Jersey State Assembly and currently works at the Borough of Chester Municipal Building. All three of her children have attended and successfully completed the Duffy and MacKinnon Schools.
Ms. Ghebreal is highly involved in volunteerism. She has been a volunteer soccer coach, member of the Wharton FOP, as well as a member of the American Legion.
Robin has served on the Board of Education for 15 years, 6 in the capacity of president
She enjoys being a part of the Board and firmly believes the commitment our staff, administrators and board members show each day is unparalleled.
Ms. Jennifer Hobbs - Vice President
Jennifer is an educator, volunteer, and a trauma recovery coach. Her five children have spent most of their lives in Wharton and are growing into successful and compassionate young men and women. She values education and believes everyone is capable of endless potential with hard work and access to resources and support. She is proud to be a member of the Wharton Board of Education where she can be an advocate for the students’ educational and emotional needs to thrive in a dynamic world.
Mr. Anthony Astrologo - Member
Anthony has lived in Wharton for over 30 years and has been a dedicated board member for over 20 years. He lives with his wife and two children. Originally from New York, Anthony attended Hofstra University and earned a bachelor’s degree. He continued his education in engineering, earning a master’s degree from Steven’s Institute of Technology. Professionally, he has worked for 39 years as a systems engineer at Picatinny Arsenal.
During his term as President of the Board of Education, the school was honored in receiving the Governor's School of Excellence Award. Anthony takes pride in supporting the special education programs and inclusive education at Wharton Borough schools. Anthony and his family award an annual scholarship as a memorial to his special needs daughter, Morgan. It has been established and awarded at graduation every year for 20 years.
He is thrilled at the opportunity to continue giving back to the community through serving on the Board of Education.
Ms. Satwant Banga - Member
Satwant Kaur Banga is a retired teacher from Duffy Elementary School of Wharton, NJ whose dream is Heaven on Earth for all. She has been a resident of Wharton for more than 30 years and has served this district, as a teacher, for 22 years. She is dedicated to the success of this district as three of her own children went through this school system.
She encourages others to be fair, have a positive attitude, and to live ‘One Day At A Time’ being and doing their personal best. She likes to meditate, read, write, and play with her grandchildren.
Her vision is to develop global citizens with moral integrity and self-worth, who can communicate professionally, stand up for righteousness, and be lifelong learners for their own self development to the highest innate potential.
Mr. Paul Breda - Member
Paul has been a Wharton Board of Education member since 2013. He has also been a consultant and statewide presenter in support of public education in New Jersey for over 20 years.
Professionally, he helps organizations launch and expand new services and resources for educators and students that improve teaching and learning. He lives in Wharton with his wife and two dogs, watching the kids use their education to explore the rest of the world.
Mrs. Kelly Elardo - Member
Kelly Elardo has been a resident of Wharton for nearly 20 years. She and her husband raised their 2 sons both of whom attended Duffy and MacKinnon schools and now attend Morris Hills High School.
Kelly has been a parent volunteer as well as a member of the Wharton PTA. Serving most recently as President from 2017-2021. She also serves as a committee member for Wharton BSA Troop 67.
Kelly was elected to the Wharton Board of Education in 2022 and is currently in the second year of her 3 year term. She is honored to be part of a district that has been critical in her children's foundation and is pleased to be able to give back to a community that she greatly appreciates and enjoys being an active member.
Ms. Pamela Schiele - Member
Pam is a happily retired resident of Wharton with one child that graduated from the school district. She began her career as a Special Education teacher. After this portion of her career, she transitioned to the medical field as a Certified Phlebotomist. She worked at St. Barnabas Hospital in this capacity for 10 years. Ms. Schiele completed her work in an administrative position facilitating Alumni/Fundraising in a private school until retirement.
Pam is a member of the 9/11 Tuesdays Children’s Support Group and Treasurer of Morris Hills Wrestling Booster Club. In addition to her contributions to the Wharton Board of Education, her interests include shopping , reading and volunteering.
